My birthday is July 5th (which is a Wednesday this year) so I decided to celebrate the weekend before on July 3rd and go on a wine tour with a couple friends at the Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula. It was so fun! We had Mike (there are two Mikes, we had the older one), he was very knowledgable, he knew so much about the vineyard and all the wines that we tried on the tour and he was super fun and interactive! He was constantly asking anyone if they had any questions about things he didn’t cover so he could make sure we were all informed! And of course, the wine…we started off with the signature almond champagne, which was good (a little too sweet for my tasting) and had a couple whites and reds in between and we ended with a dessert sherry straight from the barrel (which was SO cool!!). The vineyard is gorgeous, there are a couple beautiful courtyards with tables, a walk up bar and a restaurant. If you are a wino or are interested in learning about wine or vineyards I would highly recommend doing a tour here! Here are some pictures from our day! Enjoy!
If you were ever wondering where cork comes from…A cork tree! They are only found in Portugal (well and one at Wilson Creek Winery). And YES, it is as soft as you think!
