Reunion & A Wedding

I don’t think I have posted anything about this yet but, from August 2015-June 2016 I lived in Chico, CA and attended California State University, Chico. For people who know me personally they know that I struggled while living there and it was not always the fun college experience one would hope for when moving away to go to school. I had an extremely hard time living in such a different place, I guess you can say I had some culture shock (even though I was still in the same country and even state). Chico is very different from Orange County. A couple of things made me happy while I was there, my sweet friends Maddy, Liz & Sarah, the absolutely beautiful campus I got to be at every day and my job at Chico Cheer All Stars. I spent almost every day working so of course I spent a lot of time with the same people and they became some of my best friends. Funny story, I had actually known one of the coaches I worked with at Chico Cheer All Stars when I was younger and living in Elk Grove, CA…we did cheer together on multiple teams so it was so funny that we ended up working together and becoming so close! But anyways! Julianna, Jamal, Sierra & I deemed ourselves “The Cheetah Girls” as that was one of all of our favorite movies and we watched it the night before a competition and then that was that! After that year in Chico we all kind of went our separate ways, all of us moving to different places (still in California) but we still have kept in touch almost every day since! That is what I call a true friendship, being in totally different parts of California and still managing to be completely involved and caught up in each others lives. SO ANYWAYS let me get to the whole point of this post! We had a reunion this weekend for Sierra’s wedding! YES, Sierra got married and it was absolutely perfect! I will talk more about the wedding below and share pictures, but I am going to start from the first day some of us reunited!

Friday (June 2, 2017) Jamal, Julianna and Matt (Julianna’s boyfriend) drove down from Northern California to my house in Orange County! They got in around 8:00pm and I made us dinner reservations at one of my favorite sushi restaurants,Ā Riptide, we ate, drank and got completely caught up on whats been going on in all our lives! (We also took a trip toĀ Cha For Tea, in Irvine for some of my favorite boba)! Then we went back to my house where we all got settled and went to bed, Saturday morning (the day of the wedding) we woke up around 9:00am and they wanted me to take them to a cute place to eat. I know a lot of cute & trendy places to eat but I wanted to also take them somewhere in a good location, so we went toĀ Wahoo’sĀ in Laguna Beach so we could enjoy our food with a view (unfortunately it was a little gloomy, but we were so close to the water we could still see it and enjoy the view). After that we headed toĀ Bed, Bath & Beyond, because we were totally slacking on our wedding gifts! We got the gifts and then went to my house to get ready for the wedding!

The wedding ceremony was held atĀ Wayfarers ChapelĀ in Rancho Palos Verdes, which was BEAUTIFUL! It was so quaint and perfect for the wedding size they had! (will post pictures below) Of course, me being the emotional person I am, I cried right when the groom got up there and was waiting for Sierra to walk down the aisle and cried almost the whole time. The wedding was gorgeous, Sierra looked stunning, their vows were perfect and all & all it was such a beautiful ceremony. After the ceremony we took some photos outside and waited in line to get a picture with the newly weds before we headed to the hotel where the reception was! Once we got to the hotel, there was the cocktail hour in the courtyard overlooking the marina where we mingled, had drinks and some snacks and then we all headed to the banquet room for the reception! The reception hall looked adorable, pink and gold color schemes and just so cute! The maid of honor and best man did their toasts, we watched a slide show (with the cutest little baby pictures of the bride and groom), we had dinner and danced the rest of the night! Since Julianna, Jamal, Matt & I were driving back to my house that night (about and hour & a half drive) we decided to leave around 11:30pm and also made a pit stop atĀ Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles, which was great as always and it was so fun to take them places they have never been to before! We got back to my house around 2:00am and all passed out! We woke up Sunday around 10:00am, went to a local restaurant,Ā Blk Burgrz, and then they headed back up North. I was so sad to see them go, but SO thankful to have had the time I did with them and having them here in my city and also being able to expierence a day of love with them for one of our other best friends. It was such a fun weekend and I just really wanted to share it with you guys! I am going to post some pictures from the weekend down below! I hope everyone has best friends like mine, I am so blessed with them and so thankful that they came out of something that was not so great for me! Enjoy the photos & always remember to spend quality time with your friends because I know I would be nothing without my best friends! Weekend much needed and well spent!
